POLITICAL PAGE

This page will be used to endorse candidates we support, campaigns we belong to, and to report on legislation we support or oppose. And to give a political opinion on current events...................
I am an U S Army Veteran. During my lifetime I have been a liberal, and I have been a conservative.... I have been a Democrat (1970s, 1980s), and then a Republican (late 1980s-1990s)...and I am now a moderate, independent, that leans to the right on most, but not all, issues. I belong to the VFW, American Legion, NRA, MRC, and the UAC.

GOD BLESS THE USA,  AND OUR MILITARY! Hooah!

ELECTION 2016
My most successful year politically with most all the candidates I endorsed winning elections, and amendments I supported / opposed being approved or defeated. It was a great year for those of us who wanted the USA to return to greatness after years of liberal, progressive, Obamacratic destruction of our nation. We are on the Right path now. Thanks be to God

ELECTION 2012

Overall in the election I was 8 - 3 with candidates I endorsed, and issues I supported or opposed. Defeating Prop B was a big win for us who are tired of 'sin taxes' and special interest groups trying to control behavior. All local County candidates I supported won including Garry Bush as Sheriff. Right of center candidates increased their numbers in the Missouri Legislature and now have a veto proof majority. JD McGaugh (R) becoming our new State Rep was a good surprise since the 39th District has a Democrat majority. But of course most Missouri Democrats are old style Truman Democrats and nothing like Obamacrats. That is why I supported Gov Nixon (D) for re-election because he has distanced himself from Obama.  My only loses were Romney, Akin, and Turk, and I had predicted them to lose. Campaign 2012 was good for me personally having supported the right people in most campaigns, but it was a disaster for our Nation with Obama's re-election.

The election is over and the majority of people who voted has re-elected Obama. Though there is some cases of vote fraud, such will not change the results.  As a Veteran, it is sad to see most American voters are now too dependent on government, blinded to whom has been destroying our economy, support corruption, want handouts, and are easily manipulated by the libs and media. It is what it is. But we don't have to sit by and accept it without protest.

1.) I will not be flying the American flag for awhile, but proudly flying the Missouri State Flag on my flagpoles because our State rejected the Obamacrats. Republicans and Democrats in Missouri voted against Obama with one of the highest percentages in the nation. I am not proud of the majority of voters of my country at this time and it'd be hypocritical of me to continue flying the flag of Obama-nation.

2.) I will not be donating a dime to help anyone in a Blue State no matter how many hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, whatever causes them grief. They voted for Obama, let Obama take care of them. Afterall he has promised them he would hasn't he?

3.) I will donate to organizations that oppose Obama and who will try their best to limit further damage he plans. The NRA is one of these organizations.

4.) I will prepare for 2014 and 2016 hoping we will have good candidates then to maybe save what is left of the USA. If the GOP goes more moderate I'll find another Party to support that will represent true conservative values. If the GOP wants to survive it needs to become a true opposition party fighting Obama on everything and stopping him when they can. Compromise to Obama means people agreeing with him and giving him what he wants. He does not compromise, and if the GOP wants my support it had best not compromise either.

I'm sure there is other ways to protest and fight the Obamacrats, and I welcome any ideas you have. These 4 are just my plans for now. Those of us who believe in traditional American values may be outnumbered but we don't have to roll over and play dead. We may be a minority (of voters) but we are a large minority with at least over 58 million of us who did not vote for Obama and most of us are the producers, the achievers, the successful, the best of Americans, and we still have more power than we realize. We need to use that power in the right ways.

ELECTION 2012 ENDORSEMENTS

NO-BAMA  & NO-CLAIRE 2012
The 2012 Election will determine if the USA will remain free and a democracy, or continue the Obama-Crats course to socialism. WE MUST DEFEAT OBAMA IN 2012, and vote out his girl Senator Claire McCaskile, too.  Neither of them listened to the voters in 2010 and continued on their path of government control, record debt, big spending, failed Green policies, high unemployment, and class & race warfare. If you want government controlling your lives and giving you hand-outs then of course vote for them..... if you love freedom, believe in personal responsibility, want a strong military and country, then support the candidates I am endorsing in November 2012.

FOR PRESIDENT WE ARE ENDORSING: MITT ROMNEY (R)

U.S. SENATE, MISSOURI:  Todd Akin (R) Though I do not like how arrogant and stubborn Akin is (he should have left the race) our choice is between two arrogant, stubborn people who do not care what the majority wants, one is conservative and one is liberal, so I am endorsing the person closest to our own political beliefs. Never forget McCaskile was one of the first Senators to betray Hillary Clinton and endorse Obama in 2008, and she's been Obama's girl since.

MISSOURI 5TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
JACOB TURK (R)
turkforcongress.info

MISSOURI GOVERNOR: JAY NIXON (D)
Gov Nixon has been more Independent than a modern Democrat keeping his distance from Obama and the leftist elements of the Democrat Party. He is more an old style Truman Democrat. He has earned and deserves another 4 years.

Re-elect LT GOVERNOR Pete Kinder (R)

MISSOURI STATE SENATE: SEN DAVID PEARCE (R)

MO HOUSE 39TH DISTRICT: Joe Don McGaugh (R)

RAY COUNTY SHERIFF: Chief Deputy Gary Busch (D)
Retiring Sheriff Sam Clemens is a long time friend, and Gary Bush has been Sam's Chief Deputy for a long time and deserves to be the person who replaces Sam as our County Sheriff.

RAY COUNTY CORONER: Tobey Polley (R)

MISSOURI PROP E: YES  Prohibits creation of healthcare exchange unless created by MO Legislature or MO voters

MO TOBACCO TAX INITIATIVE: NO  Increases State Cigarette Tax by at least 73 cents a pack to fund the same BS other increases were suppose to fund. Just another sin tax scam to try to control behavior some people consider bad. We're taxed enough now.

ELECTION 2010; WE DID REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!
Campaign 2010 was historic, and a good one as conservatives and right-of-center candidates won nationwide taking over the U S House, making gains in the U S Senate, taking over Governorships and State Legislatures, and sending a big message to Obama that his policies and positions do not represent the majority of Americans.

In Missouri Roy will be our new Senator, the GOP also took over the State Auditor's Office, and kept control of the Missouri Senate and House increasing their majorities in both.

In neighboring Kansas the GOP took back over the Governor's and Attorney General's Offices, and took over the 3rd Congressional District.

In Missouri and Kansas it was a Republican year. Of candidates we supported, and issues we supported or opposed, we had 6 wins and 2 losses, but one of the losses was Rep Ike Skelton, Democrat, who lost to a more conservative Republican thus not really a loss because we'll still be represented by a right of center Congress-person. I warned Ike years ago his support for Pelosi and liberal issues would come back to haunt him in this District. Ike did change back to the 'right' in 2010 but by then it was too little, too late.

I was very happy with the results of the Primary Election in August, and now the General Election. Pelosi will no longer be Speaker of the House, liberal control of the USA has been severely weakened, and the majority has shown the Obama-crats and the liberal mainstream media they need to start listening to the people instead of being arrogant, socialist elitists............. this is the change we needed.

God Bless the USA!
Enjoy life, Mike

WHAT I WROTE BEFORE THE ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 2010

I know many of you Obama voters are already feeling remorse for having supported him. He is breaking promise after promise made during his campaign: No new taxes on anyone making under $250K a year (unless you are a tobacco user or use tanning beds and he may let the Bush tax cuts expire raising taxes on everyone ) and that he'd govern from the middle (he's governing as a far left progressive liberal) and that he'd change Washington with a new ethical government (his appointments are Washington insiders and tax cheats and his people meet in secret instead of openly as he promised) and that he'd control debt (he continues raising the national debt faster than any President ever has) and that unemployment would not go over 8% if his stimulus plan passed (it is near 10% and has been for months).  Obama and the Democrat Party Leadership is leading the country to socialism. Many of you believed his, and liberal Democrats lies during the 2008 campaign and many of you may still fall for his and their lies now. Don't pay attention to his or their words, watch his and their actions! Such as how they pushed through healthcare reform even though the majority of Americans wanted them to slow down. Now they are siding with illegal immigrants over Americans, and the building of a mosque near Ground Zero? They want to pass a Cap & Trade Bill that is actually Cap & Tax raising costs on everyone to 'save the planet?'  They only care about their power and nothing else, and are leading this country to ruin. This is how a great nation falls..... from within.
2010 is the year to start turning this country right again!
Remember in November!!!!!!

    CAMPAIGN 2010 ENDORSEMENTS

I HAVE JOINED THE CAMPAIGN OF ROY BLUNT FOR SENATE 2010 (R. MO)
Roy's  opponent, Robin Carnahan, is a far left liberal Democrat, who will become another of Obama's girls as our Senator McCaskile has become. A vote for Carnahan is a vote for Obama's socialist agenda, as was proven when he came to Missouri for Carnahan's fundraiser in July 2010 and said 'he needs her in the Senate'.

RE-ELECT  IKE SKELTON FOR CONGRESS
(D, MISSOURI)

Ike is an old style conservative Democrat like most Democrats used to be during the Truman years. Truman and JFK would both be appalled at what the Democrat Party has become. He has opposed Obama on many issues including voting against healthcare reform, and now opposes Cap & Trade. He is pro-gun and pro-military. He's more a Republican than a Democrat in today's times.

Re-elect Rep Bob Nance (R) MO 36th District
His opponent ran as a liberal in 2008, and she still is, she's just  pretending to be more moderate now in 2010 realizing a liberal cannot win the 36th District. She isn't fooling very many people. When Bob wins this will be his 4th and final term due to term limits.

MISSOURI AMENDMENTS

Constitutional Amendment 1 - Vote “YES”, hold county assessors accountable!

Constitutional Amendment 2 - Vote “YES”, to support disabled former POWs!

Constitutional Amendment 3 - Vote “YES”, prohibit sales taxes on your home!

Proposition B - B is Bad! - Vote “NO”, stop animal rights extremism!

2010 AUGUST PRIMARIES
The August Primary was good for us with all our candidates we supported ( except one ) winning their races, and Prop C passing!

Roy Blunt, Ike Skelton, and Bob Nance all won.

We supported RODGER FITZWATER FOR RAY COUNTY PRESIDING COMMISSIONER and though he lost the election he has served well as our Presiding Commissioner. He will be replaced by a very capable person we know well: Bob King.

I  DID NOT ENDORSE ANYONE IN THE RAY COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY AND COUNTY CLERK RACES.  Winning PA candidate Danielle Rogers and her husband visited us during the campaign and had one of her signs in our yard. My cousin Lynn Rogers won as Democrat Candidate for County Clerk. Congratulations Danielle.

I WAS GLAD BOTH MISSOURI 8TH CIRCUIT JUDGE DAVID MILLER (R) AND ASSOCIATE CIRCUIT JUDGE JAMES THOMPSON (D) WAS ELECTED UNOPPOSED! AS WAS COUNTY COLLECTER MARGIE BOWMAN, RECORDER SHIRLEY BUSH, & TREASURER JOANNE BURNINE.

VOTE YES ON MISSOURI PROPOSITION C! This passed with over 70% of the vote sending a big message to DC we don't want national healthcare as passed this year, nor want to be made to purchase insurance as ObamaCare requires!

PAST CAMPAIGNS & ISSUES

2002 - 2009

THE 2008 ELECTIONS ARE OVER AND THOUGH OBAMA WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT, IT WAS STILL A GOOD ELECTION SEASON FOR US. OF THE CANDIDATES I SUPPORTED IN THE PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS 8 WON, AND 3 LOST (and though McCain lost nationally he won Missouri so 9-2 in MO). OF THE ISSUES I SUPPORTED OR OPPOSED THERE WERE 3 WINS  - 1 LOSS.
2008 Elections Endorsements
If Obama is elected president, the liberal faction of the Democrat Party will control the Presidency and the Congress, and our military and nation will decline. That is a fact. If you vote for Obama you get what you deserve. If you think things are bad now, wait and see how bad things can be when liberals fully control our government.  (11/18/08: Sadly this has now happened. People will regret this but the decision has been made. People will learn the hard way what 'change' is coming to them.)

I joined the McCain Campaign in 2007   McCain - Palin '08!

Re-elect Senator Bill Stouffer (R)

Re-elect Rep Bob Nance (R) MO 36th District

Re-elect Lt Governor Pete Kinder (R)
Re-elect Rep Ike Skelton (D) and Rep Roy Blunt (R) Rep. Sam Graves (R) to the U.S. Congress

Re-Elect Sam Clemens (D) Ray County Sheriff
Re-elect Allen Dale (D) Ray Co Eastern Commissioner

2007 Elections Endorsements
CITY OF HARDIN MAYOR: Bob McCorkendale Vote April 3
Bob is former Mayor and former East Ward Alderman. Manager of Ideal Industries Sheltered Workshop in Richmond, Missouri (Bob-O won election 04/03/07 and is now Hardin's Mayor!)
THE ANTI-WAR MOVEMENT is the Anti-Military Movement
As a US Army Veteran, I am honored to have served my Country, and to have protected the 'rights' of people to protest. But as a Nam Era Vet, who has been spit on by anti-war demonstrators, called a baby killer and worse, I question the motives of today's 'Peace Movement'. Afterall many of the anti-war activists now are the same ones from the 1960s and 1970s. They did not 'support the troops' then, and I find it hard to believe they 'support the troops' now. If you look at the true leadership of the current 'Peace Movement' and where they get their funding, you will find the same old anti-military crowd that has existed since the 1960s. The core is made up of socialists, far left liberals, extreme environmentalists, animal rights activists, the anti-globalization crowd, anarchists, etc. Basically the extreme Leftists of our Nation. And of course, they have their allies in the mainstream media.
To 'pull out of Iraq now' as they demand, endangers the USA, and would dishonor all the troops who have served honorably there, who has been wounded, and who has made the ultimate sacrifice. The War in Iraq is not Vietnam. The only thing similar to Vietnam is how our media gives negative coverage making things appear worse than they are, the media avoids any good news, the media gives too much coverage to the anti-war protestors, and many of the anti-war protestors are the same ones from the Nam Era.
The anti-war protestors and their media allies put our troops at risk, they encourage our enemies, and they are in many ways the 'enemy within' themselves. We are fighting a worldwide war against an enemy we have never faced before. If we don't fight the enemy where they are, draw them out to fight them there, then we'll eventually be fighting them here.  Iraq is not Vietnam, and this is not the Nam Era. The VC and the NVA never attacked us on our soil and they never had any plans to do so. The Muslim extremists have attacked us on our soil, and they want to destroy our way of life. Our troops worldwide is now fighting an enemy who would kill every American if they had a chance...they'd kill anyone who doesn't believe as they do, and yes, they'd kill the anti-war demonstrators, too.
SUPPORT THE TROOPS the right way.

CAMPAIGN 2006
The November 7th election has seen a slight shift of power to the Democrat Party in Congress with them having a small majority in both the US Senate and House. Now they can no longer blame the GOP for everything. Now instead of whining and complaining, they have to actually propose ideas and policies. Now they can infight among themselves with their far-Left base pushing for radical change, their liberal members pushing for their agendas, their moderate members trying to keep the Party in the middle, and their Blue Dog conservative members wondering why they are still in the Democrat Party. It could be a circus the next 2 years. Especially with a liberal, San Fransico values, Speaker of the house Pelosi. One that will put the GOP back in power in Congress in 2008. Actually 2006 could have been a good year afterall for the GOP. No longer can the Democrats run on this issue of 'change'; they have to actually present ideas? Something they don't have? We'll see, as an independent I'd like to see the Democrat Party become moderate and maybe that will happen. Though I doubt it. One hope is the fact most the Democrats who won over GOP opponents were moderates or more conservative or the same as the Republican they ran against. The next 2 years we will learn a lot.
This campaign season I was 5 - 2 on candidates and issues I was involved in. Senator Talent losing was a big loss for me, and Missouri. I have built a good relationship with his staff and him. Sen Lieberman, Ike, Roy, and Rep Nance winning offset the loss somewhat.  Beating the ridiculous cigarette tax increase was a big win. I lost on the Stem Cell issue but believe court challenges to it may be forthcoming.
In Missouri the GOP held the Missouri Senate and House, and the Governor is GOP, so though the media is claiming Missouri is turning 'Blue' because of the election of Claire McCaskile to the US Senate, don't believe it. Claire ran more 'Red' than 'Blue' and she's saying she'll be independent in Washington. So we'll see if she'll walk the talk?
Michael W. Bales, Sr. 11/16/06
Re-elect Sen Joe Lieberman, Independent Connecticut
I  followed the news how far-left wing and anti-war activists had targeted him for defeat. How they recruited a millionaire anti-war Leftist to run against him. How this is a first step in their goal to control the Democratic Party. And they were successful in the Democratic primary of defeating him. Thus groups like MoveOnOrg, and socialists like George Soros, have their first victory in their attempts to take control not of just the Democratic Party, but of Congress and eventually the presidency. They must be stopped. And the Democrats need to be sent a message Americans are not going to support radical Leftists.

Though I do not agree with many of Senator Lieberman's political positions, I do agree with these words he has said, quote: "If you're disappointed with the ugly tone of our politics, if you're fed up with the nasty partisanship in Washington, then I ask your help, too."

CAMPAIGN 2004
November 2nd was a remarkable day for Missouri, our Nation, and for myself. Every candidate I formally endorsed WON. All I candidates and issues I voted for won (except for one). As I had hoped,  2004 was a year that liberals, their allies in the media and in Hollywood and in the music industry, and Michael Moore & George Soros LOST BIG TIME!
(For more comments on Campaign 2004 Please Scroll Down)
I was a member of:         Matt Blunt for Governor (Missouri)   WON!

I joined the Bush For President Campaign in 1998, and been a member since.   RE-ELECTED!

SKELTON FOR CONGRESS (MISSOURI) Rep. Ike Skelton (D) Re-elected!

RE-ELECT ROY BLUNT TO CONGRESS (MISSOURI) Rep. Roy Blunt (R) WON!

SENATOR KIT BOND (R-MO) U.S. Senate    RE-ELECTED
MAKING DECISIONS NOW ON WHOM TO SUPPORT FOR MISSOURI STATE SENATE.
My family and friends,

I thank each of you for voting, and I especially thank all of you who voted for the candidates I endorsed. Of the candidates I officially endorsed, ALL WON! My first campaign where 100% of those I endorsed were re-elected or elected. President Bush was re-elected. Matt Blunt was elected as Missouri Governor. Re-elected to Congress was: Sen. Kit Bond, Ike Skelton, & Roy Blunt.

Of those candidates I supported or voted for only one person failed to be elected and that was Hanaway. We now have a Republican State Senator in representing the 21st District (Bill Stouffer) and a Republican State Representative for the 36th District (Nance beat Kelly!). Pete Kinder (R) was elected as Lt. Governor. Basically Republicans now control all aspect of Missouri government.

Also Missouri Constitutional Amendment #3 passed.

Seems the KC Star's endorsements was the kiss of death for candidates and issues as almost all that liberal left leaning newspaper endorsed or supported lost. The Star's endorsement seems to be a curse, lol.

This was my most successful election campaign season and election ever. It was a great election day for me, for Missouri, and for the Nation. Nationally we have a Republican President, Senate, and House. Republicans increased their majority in the Senate, and the head liberal in the Senate, Tom Dashle, was kicked out of office. In Missouri the Republicans are in charge.

I am very happy today and excited about the future. As an Independent I do hope this election will finally open the eyes of the Democrats, and they will push out their liberal special interest groups and become a true Party again. Then maybe I can support the Democratic Party again someday. This election I voted for only 2 Democrats (Skelton & Nixon) because most Democrats do not come close to my beliefs, positions, or morals. As the Democrats should learn by now it is true they don't represent the majority of Americans, and never will as long are controlled by their liberal members.

Michael Moore and other Hollywood phonies, George Soros, rock & roll stars, the Ditzy Chicks, limosene liberals, groups such as MoveOnOrg, and the left wing mainstream media, all failed in their efforts to beat Bush. Not only did Bush win, but Republicans gained in the Senate and House and in the States nationwide.

Yesterday was a great day for the USA.

Enjoy life, Mike

WE SUPPORT FEDERAL AND STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS DEFINING MARRIAGE AS BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN
Considering my personal circumstances of being in a 'marriage of convenience' for Laura's protection, thus not a traditional marriage, some people may wonder how I can support traditional marriage. Afterall if gays and lesbians could marry, then why not one man and two women? That would benefit me personally. BUT I DO NOT TAKE POLITICAL POSITIONS BASED ON WHAT BENEFITS ME. I support what benefits society. I support what I believe is right. Marriage is a sacred, moral tradition that benefits society, and should not be changed to satisfy the political agenda of homosexual special interests. I believe in tolerance, live and let live, and whatever you do in your own home is your business, but I oppose homosexuals & activist judges trying to force their beliefs on the majority of Americans. I fully admit my 'marriage' is not normal nor traditional. Because of such I withhold myself from communion as is the edict of my Church. There is certain lines in society that should not be crossed, and changing 'marriage' to benefit a small minority is one of those lines. If homosexuals are allowed to marry using the 'civil rights and discrimination arguments' then why not a father /daugher, or mother/son, or brother/sister, or three people????? Once the floodgates are open, they are open, so best to keep those gates closed.
MISSOURI AMENDMENT #2, PASSED 71% to 29% On August 3, 2004. THIS CHANGED MISSOURI'S CONSTITUTION TO RECOGNIZE MARRIAGE AS ONLY BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN! WE WON IN MO!
But we still need a Federal Constitutional Amendment
WE SUPPORT LIMITS ON NON-ECONOMIC DAMAGES IN LIABILITY CASES, ESPECIALLY MALPRACTICE CASES
It is time to put an end to lawsuits, and jury awards, that are outrageous (also we'd like to see an end to frivilous lawsuits and some sanctions against attornies who file them).  If a person has been damaged then we support that person or persons receiving economic damages. If a person needs $5,000,000 for lifetime care then that is fair. What we want limited is punitive awards that could tack on millions more to be paid on top the $5,000,000. We all end up paying higher premiums because of juries awarding too much as 'punishment'. We also support any legislation that will sanction lawyers for filing frivilous and meritless cases. And legislation that shields certain industries from malicious lawsuits. It is time to regulate the legal field that is completely out of control now.

OTHER ISSUES
WE SUPPORTED  LEGISLATION TO ALLOW LAW ABIDING CITIZENS TO CARRY CONCEALED WEAPONS IN MISSOURI
Having the right to carry a concealed weapon would allow me to provide better protection for Laura and myself when I take her shopping. Especially when we do go to Kansas City and other metro areas to shop.
PASSED DURING 2003 LEGISLATIVE SESSION. THEN VETOED BY GOV HOLDEN. LEGISLATURE OVERRODE VETO IN SPETEMBER 2003. ****  IN OCTOBER 2003 A STATE JUDGE IN ST. LOUIS GRANTED AN INJUNCTION FILED BY ANTI GUN ACTIVISTS AND THIS LAW WAS TIED UP IN THE COURTS. THUS LAW ABIDING CITIZENS CONTINUED TO BE DENIED THE RIGHT TO CARRY; WHILE THE CRIMINALS CONTINUED TO CARRY (AFTERALL,  CRIMINALS DO NOT APPLY FOR PERMITS TO CARRY GUNS!!!!). EVENTUALLY THE MISSOURI SUPREME COURT ALLOWED CONCEALED CARRY TO BECOME LAW IN MISSOURI, BUT MANY SHERIFF'S ARE NOT ISSUING PERMITS YET.
Soon I will be applying for a permit to carry once I have completed the required training course.

WE OPPOSE ANY AND ALL FORMS OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS
We oppose all left wing extremists (be they environmentalists, animal rights activists, peace activists, etc.)  and oppose organizations such as PETA, NOW, Handgun Control Inc (which has now been renamed the Brady Center). We consider ourselves moderates who do support middle of the road positions with a lean to the Right on most, but not all issues. We support the best person for the Office and vote that way instead of supporting a Party. We are not Republicans nor Democrats. We own guns, we smoke, we eat meat, we drink alcohol, we have a Bible in the house, and we believe in common sense and personal responsibility.

WE SUPPORT PRESIDENT BUSH AND OUR MILITARY IN OUR WAR AGAINST TERRORISM.
We have no respect for anti war demonstrators who march under the flag of the TRACK OF THE CHICKEN (peace symbol) and by doing so actually show support for the enemies of the USA. Anti war demonstrators are just 'useful idiots'  (as communists used to call them) whose actions encourage terrorism and dictators. These misguided fools probably believe if they'd been on one of the airliners on 9/11 they could have talked the terrorists out of flying into buildings? They don't understand the radical Muslim enemies of the USA will praise and appreciate their support, but hates them just like they hate all Americans. Our enemies hate us not because of our government, but because of our lifestyles, because they consider us evil to have an open society of tolerance and freedoms. The terrorists goal is Islamic Law ruling the World. These anti war protestors are mainly leftist activists and would be jailed or executed for their beliefs in a radical Islamic Nation.  Oh well, they live in the USA where they have the freedom and rights  to protest and to be idiots if they want to be. Thanks to the soldiers who have died to protect their 'rights'.
ANTI WAR TERRORISM????
In March 2003 the media reported some extreme elements of the 'anti-war movement' (meaning also the anti-Bush movement, and most all extreme far left groups)  was planning to disrupt communication, transportation, schools, utilities, etc, in the USA, thus escalating their anti war protests from peaceful to what they call 'civil disobedience' and what I call terrorism. I hope if ever these fanatics do cross-the-line from their Constitutional right to protest... to unlawful acts...  that our government treats them as they will be: terrorists, traitors, and the 'enemy in our midst'. This is not the 1960s and 1970s and this is not Vietnam. We are at war and we were attacked first (USS Cole, Embassies. Consulates bombed;  New York/World Trade Center attacked twice with the worst being 9/11). We are at war. One we did not start. One that the best of Americans will fight, while the worst of Americans will show their true colors acting in ways that will prove them as 'the enemy in our midst'.
GOD BLESS THE USA, AND OUR ALLIES

IRAQ: THE TRUTH
The war  in Iraq was won in 2003 when Saddem's forces were routed.  Such was accomplished with the most rapid militaty campaign in history. Major combat ended then. But our troops have remained in harms way, and will, as terrorists and die hard fanatics continue small scale and suicide attacks. The media is blowing these attacks, and our losses, out of purportion. As a veteran I feel the loss of every soldier, and I feel for the family. But as soldiers we know the risks. Our troops are in a hostile environment surrounded by enemies while trying to help the Iraqi people. It is amazing our casualties are so low. Our military has fought a major war, and now is in an occupation role, and our losses have been small. More people have been murdered in the USA (in just California?) since March 2003, than we've lost troops fighting a war. Yet I don't see the media saying our government and  police here in the USA aren't in control? Our troops and government is doing an amazing job in Iraq. We should be very proud of them.
I am proud of our military. As always, I'm ashamed of most of our media and its lean toward the anti war movement (not unexpected since most our media is liberal). Iraq is not Vietnam. No comparison. Vietnam was a civil war and we supported South Vietnam at its request against North Vietnam. The Soviet Union supported North Vietnam. Vietnam only became one nation when the North defeated the South in 1975 ( 2 years after our combat troops had left). Different war. Different circumstances. And the Vietnese never attacked the USA on our soil! The only true comparison between Iraq and Vietnam is how the media has reported the wars. The media is sometimes the worst enemy this Nation has because it doesn't report the full truth. The media reports its version of the truth, which is usually half truths or lies, and blows things out of purportion to try to get people to believe as the media does (which is liberal). The good in Iraq is not reported (schools and hospitals opened, power back on, oil flowing, polls show most Iraqis want us there, etc); one bad thing happens and it makes the headlines? Shameful.
This war in Iraq was a war no one wanted, but was a necessary war. And it is the main battleground against terrorism now. We fully supported President Bush's decision to take military action against Saddem. Our allies, and our military, did prevail in ridding Iraq and the world of Saddem and his cohorts. The Coalition of the Willing,  did what had to be done. And still are. Every terrorist and fanatic killed now in Iraq (and anywhere we kill them)  is one less who will threaten the World. GOD BLESS THE USA AND OUR ALLIES.

CAMPAIGN 2002
NOVEMBER ELECTION REPORT:
This was my most successful election ever as all 6 candidates I endorsed in the General Election won election including Jim Talent (R-MO) to the US Senate, and Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) to the US Senate. Rep Ike Skelton (D-MO), and Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO) were re-elected to the US Congress.  In Ray County Jeff Adam (D) was elected as Presiding Commissioner, and Lynn Rogers was re-elected County Clerk (Though in the August Primary I supported Curtis Profitt for PC then supported Jeff Adams in this General Election). I also firmly opposed Missouri Prop 'A' and it went down to defeat. That victory was very satisfying because it was a slap in the face to the anti-smoking politically correct behavior police. For the first time ever I was 100% and on the winning side with every candidate and issue I worked for or against. Though I am an Independent I was also very happy to see the Republicans gain control of the Senate so President Bush can now get his judicial nominees seated on the bench. The liberals are now on the outside looking in and that is where I want them. Election 2002 was great for me, and for the Nation.

VOTE 'NO' TO RAISE MISSOURI CIGARETTE TAXES
(Defeated on Nov 5, 2002!!!!)
This proposal is not designed to raise money for health care as its supporters claim and lie about. It is to regulate behavior. The anti smoking groups who got this on the ballot are hoping the 55 cents a pack increase will force more people to quit smoking. What people need to understand is this will not raise the money its supporters claim and if more people do stop smoking the State will not get the tax money it does now from smokers. Eventually the State will have to get its money somehow and that will be by raising taxes on everyone. These same people supporting this tax increase is considering the same type tax on alcohol, fast foods, and anything they consider 'unhealthy' in their narrow opinions. It is time to send them a message enough is enough. Voting against this proposal is not a vote for smoking;  it is a vote to send a message to the health police that enough is enough,...no new taxes, and quit trying to force us to live your way!
Even though this issue was defeated Governor Holden tried to push this tax increase through the Legislature in 2003. HE FAILED!!!!
